2019 TAPPS Convention – CHAI Update

TAPPS Members,

Children’s Health Andrews Institute along with Rank One are the TAPPS 2019 Convention Title Sponsors. In addition to their support, CHAI has put together an incredible slate of Health and Safety presentations that offers value to school administrators, coaches, moderators and athletic trainers.

June 12

9:00 am Why an Athletic Trainer?

Larry Lasky from CHAI will discuss the importance of creating and maintaining a medical team at each school. This will include the roles of team doctors, school nurses, licensed athletic trainers and student trainers.

10:15 am Nutrition for Female Students

12:45 pm Nutrition for Male Students

Noel Williams, EXOS of Plano, is returning to the convention this year to expand on the Nutrition presentation given at the convention last year with gender specific information.

2:00 pm Developing Emergency Action Plans

Larry Lasky from CHAI will give a presentation on Emergency Action Plans. The session will cover why EAP’s are important and what it takes to create and implement. The pre-game Medical Timeout program will be introduced.  

3:30 pm Rank One Health

Chad Gilliland from CHAI will give a presentation on Rank One Health and benefits available to schools.

June 13

12:30 pm Concussion

Dr. Scott Burkhart from CHAI will cover the recognition and treatment of concussions.

Dr. James Andrews will give a talk on issues affecting high school athletes today.
