As we approach this week’s semifinal contests, please review the following information as you finalize your game plans.
TAPPS Weather Rules (Section 138 of the TAPPS By-Laws)
Prior to the Beginning of the Game:
Field Conditions
- Agreement of both teams
Rain / Weather Delay
- Agreement of both teams
Lightning
- Host school or designated home team
During the Game:
Field Conditions
- Official’s Decision
Rain / Weather Delay
- Official’s Decision
Lightning
- Determine prior to the game who will monitor
- Official’s Decision
No Contest (Game stopped prior to half time)
- Game resumes from the start as if the previous attempt never occurred
Suspended Games
- If the officials suspend the game after initial kickoff and prior to the clock stoppage (end of game)
- Must be made up next day
- Agreement should be made in advance of the contest as to the following:
- Warmup Time prior to games resuming
- Game Time for the contest to resume from the point of stoppage regardless of time remaining
Complete Games (Termination prior to the clock ending)
- If after halftime, the team trailing on the scoreboard may declare the contest final and accept the loss.
