Section 23 – Fine Arts Executive Committee

TABLE of CONTENTS

A. Composition
a. The Fine Arts Executive Committee shall be an elected body consisting of not more than ten (10) members.
b. Term of office
i. Each term shall be no longer than 3 years
ii. An FAEC representative may be elected no more than two consecutive terms.
c. Membership shall be determined by a vote of the member schools in each classification in each region represented.
d. Regions shall be as follows for each classification:
i. Dallas – Fort Worth
ii. San Antonio
iii. Houston
iv. At Large as determined by the Executive Board
e. Elections shall be held in May or as determined by the Executive Board.
B. Governance
a. General Governance (Sections 1-129 of the TAPPS By-Laws)
i. Recommend changes to governance to the Executive Board
ii. Review and recommend changes to governance presented by membership
b. General Athletic Governance (Sections 130-142)
i. Recommend changes to governance to the Executive Board
ii. Review recommend changes to governance presented by membership
c. Fine Art Activities (Sections 199-263)
i. Recommend changes to governance to the Executive Board
ii. Review recommend changes to governance presented by membership
C. Duties of the AEC
a. Mentoring
i. Mentoring Fine Art Directors new to the position in TAPPS
ii. Provide Educational Training at TAPPS sponsored events.
b. Assist District / Regional meetings pertaining to
i. Planning
ii. Disciplinary issues.
c. Alignment
i. Fall Activities
ii. Spring Activities
d. Championship Planning
i. Approve Championship Formats
ii. Approve / Assist in planning of District or Regional Events
e. Activities hosted by TAPPS
i. Committee members shall attend and represent TAPPS at Regional or State events hosted by TAPPS.
