Head Administrators, Athletic Directors and Fine Art Directors:

As our school year continues to move quickly from fall to winter, please take a moment to review the following information regarding student participation in activities sanctioned by TAPPS.

A student’s eligibility to participate in TAPPS and for a TAPPS member school  are established annually. A student must be a full time day student to represent the member school in interscholastic participation in the activities sponsored and recognized by TAPPS. Additionally, a full time day student at a member school cannot participate or represent another school, homeschool group or similar organization in interscholastic competition. This rule applies whether or not the member school participates in an activity.  As an example, a student attending a school which does not field a football team cannot join and participate in interscholastic competition with another school or homeschool group. Participating with another group endangers the student’s eligibility at the school he attends and the opportunity of the other program to be an approved opponent for TAPPS member schools.

This situation does not affect participation in AAU, Club or Select programs. The requirement pertains to interscholastic competition only.
