Section 111 – Open Records


  1. As a non-profit, private association, that receives no federal or state funding, the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) is not subject to the Texas Public Information Act (Open Records Act), Chapter 552 of the Government Code.
  2. The Director shall collect, assemble, and maintain all records of official TAPPS business within the TAPPS State Office and, except as otherwise provided by law, all information so collected, assembled, or maintained by TAPPS in connection with its transaction of official business is public information under the provisions of the Open Records Act and is available for public inspection and disclosure during normal business hours.
  3. The above named materials, records and documents are available only on a “need to know” basis.
  4. The TAPPS Executive Board shall determine which individual(s) or groups have a “need to know”.
