As we move through the summer months, the NFHS has issued their rules revisions for 2026-27. A copy of those changes is linked below. In advance of the NFHS release, the AEC and Executive Board approved expanded electronic
communication between the coach and both the catcher and pitcher in an effort to improve the game’s pace of play. TAPPS continues our support of the NFHS Baseball rules and we highly encourage all coaches to obtain a copy of the rules prior to the season.

Key changes for the coming year include the double first base is mandatory for the 2027 TAPPS season. An exception with TAPPS approval would be the use of a larger first base as allowed by NFHS rules.
