Jerry Ayers has been involved with OAP for over thirty years as actor, director, timer, contest manager and judge. He has judged at every level from zone to state. Jerry has directed over 125 productions for educational theatres, community theatres and professional theatres. His shows have made UIL OAP state appearances and have been featured at the International Thespian Festival. Many of Jerry’s former students are working professionally in theatre and film in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, and Austin as well as being successful theatre teachers at the secondary and university levels of educational theatre. As a published and professionally produced playwright, Jerry’s scripts have been seen from Atlanta to Dallas to Misawa, Japan. He is also an award-winning costume designer. Jerry is currently the Theatre & Dance Coordinator for Grand Prairie ISD where he continues to champion the importance and benefits of Texas Educational Theatre.
