Cross Country Invitational Meets

SITE: McAllister Park, (Dog Park Multiuse Fields) Enter through the Buckhorn entrance from Wurzbach Parkway.

CHECK IN:

Race Day, 5:00. Busses can arrive at the site and off-load in the lot, then move across the street to McAllister Park Little League parking lot.

Packet pick up from5:00pm-6:00pm by finish line in pavilion 5. 

ENTRIES:          

All entries must be submitted through Milesplit 

Entry fee is $120 per division per event 

Please make check payable to: IWHS Athletics (Memo: Cross Country)

Entries are due no later than August 10th at noon.

No team registration/additions will be permitted on race day. 

Schools may only enter one team per division. 

JUNIOR VARSITY: (limit of 20 runners, top 5 will be scored for points)

6:00PM – Junior Varsity Girls Followed by Junior Varsity Boys

VARSITY: (limit to 10 runners, top 5 will be scored for points)

7:00 PM Varsity Girls followed by Varsity Boys

The above times are guidelines.  We will start the following races on a rolling schedule. 

PARKING:          

All Parking for buses will be next to the McAllister Park Little League fields.  Follow the signs. Buses must enter the parking lot and will be directed by park 

personel.   

Public parking will be in the parking lot next to the course, then overflow will park in the McAllister Park Little League fields lot.   

MAP:    We will run a 2-milecourse.  BE ADVISED:   This course could be considered extremely challenging as the course has several turns running on grass and gravel, several areas with rough terrain and uneven surfaces.  Please viewthe map link. There are also snakes in the areas with tall grass. Please use caution running across the non-mowed areas.

AWARDS: 

VARSITY: Medals for 1st -15th place. Plaques for 1st and 2nd place teams

JV: Medals for 1st – 15th place. Plaques for 1st and 2nd place teams. 

TRAINER:   The IWHS Athletic Trainers will be located near the Finish Line. 

FACILITIES: Team camps are permitted in the area marked on the map. Please do not leave any trash behind. 

There are NO pets permitted near the course, the starting area or finish line.

INCLEMENT WEATHER: Please check your email before you leave on the day of the meet.  All changes and/or cancellations will be emailed out immediately and posted on the SAISD IWHS Athletic Website.   Please send a good email and cell phone number for all Head Coaches with your entries.
