I am a retired educator looking for a boys or girls head varsity basketball position, with no other duties, although I’ll “pinch hit” in other areas if you wish.
Finances and location are not major considerations.
I hold an MEd in counseling, and have served as a classroom teacher, basketball coach (12 seasons), counselor, and administrator at both the secondary and college/university level.
I have coached ranked teams, and several of my players have gone on to play in college, but I am happy to work with student-athletes of all ability levels.
I am a big proponent of educational achievement, integrity, sportsmanship, and conduct that reflects well on the team, school, and community.

Although I’m not comfortable citing my achievements as a coach, I know it’s necessary in this cover letter and in an interview setting. Thus, I’ll give brief introduction to my background and accomplishments in the soccer arena (I also coach football). In that, I’ve coached girl’s soccer in California high schools (Central Section) at multiple schools and despite teaching (English) and coaching in China and the Czech Republic (women’s amateur soccer and American Football) for 5.5 years, I’m still second all-time in wins in our section and with 19 league titles, six section championships, with 11 section appearances in three different divisions. We also had 26 players recruited to college in my 26 seasons as head coach. Seven were D1 prospects. Remarkably, 19 were recruited from our high school and not club. We were unusual not only in that aspect but also in our year-round strength program that had us ranked in both the state and nation in three weightlifting categories. Moreover, and more importantly, in 25 of my seasons (I also assisted two years to former players) we maintained a 3.0 GPA or better. However, as is with most coaches, I’m sure, the intrinsic victories and accolades mean much more than records, rankings or scoreboard results.
