The 2023 Cross Country season continues this weekend as we move forward toward the TAPPS Cross Country Championships on October 30. Please take a minute to review the information below to help ensure your Cross Country teams are in compliance with the TAPPS governing By-Laws.
- Cross Country coaches
- All coaches associated with the High School program
- Profile in Rank One
- Signed Acknowledgement of Rules
- Completed all TEaMs Courses and uploaded the certificate from course number 14 to the Rank One profile.
- Cross Country student athletes
- All high school athletes competing in Cross Country
- Varsity and Sub Varsity
- Profile created in Rank One
- Signed Acknowledgment of Rules (in Rank One)
- Current Medical History and Physical on file with school
- Student listed on the school Cross Country Eligibility Roster in Rank One
- All high school athletes competing in Cross Country
- Participation
- TAPPS does not limit the number of meets a school or student may enter
- In a season
- In a week
- In a day (caution here)
- TAPPS does not allow a student to enter more than one division in any meet
- TAPPS By-Laws do not allow for students attending TAPPS schools to participate as “Unattached” in interscholastic meets. Conversely, TAPPS schools hosting meets should not allow entries by “Unattached” runners.
- TAPPS does not allow students not yet in High School (elementary or middle school) to participate with or against High School athletes.
- Elementary / Junior High students may not participate in Varsity races
- Elementary / Junior High students may not participate in Sub-Varsity (JV) races
- Participation with or against high school students may begin the clock on the students four (4) years of high school participation
- TAPPS does not limit the number of meets a school or student may enter
TAPPS does allow Elementary / Junior High students to practice with high school students.
