Athletic Directors and Basketball Coaches:
With the recent developments in scheduling the regional tournaments for volleyball, the TAPPS staff reviewed the opportunities for the regional basketball tournaments. With the number of games doubled and limitations on facilities, the TAPPS staff proposed to return to a more traditional calendar for the basketball playoffs. The Executive Board approved these changes.
District certification will not change, nor will the regional dates. The bi-district and area rounds dates have been adjusted to allow recovery between the rounds. As provided in the TAPPS governance, contests may be played in advance of the scheduled dates, but any games required after a published date requires TAPPS approval.

With the demands of the state championships, we continue to work with potential host sites to ensure the best opportunities for the final four contests. The dates shown on the TAPPS calendar may need adjustment once contracts are negotiated and executed in the coming months.We will advise all once the plans are in place.
With the seasons just beginning, please make the changes to your calendars and adjust plans as necessary. We appreciate your efforts to work through the scheduling demands and look forward to the 2023 playoffs and crowning our classification champions.
