Administrators:

The Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) continues to review available information from across the state as we negotiate the current pandemic.  With recent orders from Governor Abbott earlier this week and the beginning of the football seasons, the TAPPS leadership developed our plan for the continued fall competitions. Through the combined and continued efforts of all our TAPPS stakeholders, we look to move forward with cautious optimism.

Beginning September 25, 2020, TAPPS schools shall limit fan capacity to no more than 50% for both indoor and outdoor activities. However, TAPPS rules do not supersede any local orders which may be more restrictive. TAPPS fans are required to wear face masks when entering / leaving the facility and at all times when social distancing of at least 6 feet is not possible.

These protocols shall be in place for all contests hosted by TAPPS member schools including non district, tournaments, district, and post season play.  TAPPS leadership will continue to review conditions and updates and changes will be made in two week increments with our first update and potential for easing fan capacity on October 5. We look forward to returning to 100% occupancy for contests as conditions across Texas allow.
