Athletic Directors and Coaches:

 

Thank you to all of our schools, coaches and athletes for making the most of a tough day. As we look to tomorrow, we will continue with the posted schedule with the track opening for warmup and exchanges from 7:45 am to 8:45 am. The track will be cleared at 8:45 am in anticipation of the first gun for the 400 m relay being at 9:00 am.  Please review the following as we prepare to crown more individual and team champions.

BIB PICK UP and REPLACEMENT BIBS:

If you have athletes whose bib numbers were assigned and were given temporary numbers or did not receive numbers, those bibs may be picked up in the heat tent beginning at 7:30 am.  If you have not yet registered your team, please stop by the heat tent to do so upon your arrival.

 

TRACK:

The track will open for exchanges and warmup at 7:45 am.  When the track closes at 8:45 am, please take all of your belongings back to your team area or outside the fences.

 

TEAM AREAS:

As a reminder, teams may set up tents or team areas in or under the visitor stands.  In addition, team areas are permitted outside of Rice Field.

 

COACH AREAS:

Coaches are permitted to be in the bleachers on the South end of the track, at the fences on the North or South end of the track or in the stands. No one is allowed inside the track fenced area other than competitors until after the conclusion of the meet.

 

HEAT TENT:

We will run the six girls races followed by the six boys races for all events as scheduled. Please make sure to be in the heat tent when called so we can have the athletes prepared to walk to the start line when called. Runners should be race ready when entering the heat tent.  Water bottles, a change of shoes and outerwear that will not be worn on the track should not be brought into the heat tent area..  Thank you in advance for having the athletes ready to enter the heat tent in a timely fashion.  As a reminder, athletes must be in uniform compliance with both the NFHS and TAPPS governance.  If questions arise, please stop by the heat tent for clarification.

 

EXITING THE TRACK:

All runners will exit the track toward the Waco arch and the medical tent on the Southeast corner of the VISITOR stands.  They will not be returning to the heat tent from the field unless they are in the next race such as the 100 / 110 hurdles followed by the 100 m dash.  Coaches are allowed in the visitor stands and can meet their athletes there.

 

AWARDS:

REGIONAL Athletes of the meet will be honored after the 800 m run.  Please have the athletes shown in the link below report to the heat tent to be presented their awards on the field at the conclusion of the 800 m run while we are setting the hurdles.  State athletes of the meet will be awarded after the conclusion of the meet. 

REGIONAL ATHLETES OF THE MEET

 

The awards tent is located on the North end of the VISITOR stands. Athletes placing in the TOP THREE of each individual or relay event can pick up their medals at the orange Gatorade tent approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of their race.

 

Team awards will be presented at the conclusion of the meet with the coaches for the final four teams in each classification accepting their awards on the football field.
