Athletic Directors and Head Coaches:
Thank you to all for your interest in the 2023 Team Tennis tournament. We have worked to build a competitive field in both the large squad and small squad divisions. Through your commitments we achieved growth this year.
The weather forecasts continue to deteriorate for the tournament dates this week. With the increasing forecast percentages of heavy rain and thunderstorms, we have consulted our weather partners for additional forecasts. The combined forecasts all indicate high potential for energized storms. The health and safety aspects of hosting an outdoor event with heavy rain and lightning at the WRTC are daunting at best.
We have looked for other sites, but at this late date those efforts have not proven to be possible. At this time, based on those forecasts we must regrettably cancel this year’s tournament. There are no options to reschedule within the TAPPS calendar, nor with our host facility. We thank you for your support and look forward to the possibilities of again hosting the tournament in 2024.
